Did it ever occur to you that kids who are the targets of a bully can suffer from Post Traumatic Stress?

Chris Minassian is a skilled therapist with experience dealing with kids, adults, families and relationships. In this interview Chris reveals to us that many kids who are the target of bullying behavior, especially cyber bullying, can suffer from PTSD. Chris shares with us some of the things parents should be on the look out for, the ways we can help our kids if they have been hurt, and ways we can encourage all kids to speak up and stop the abuse from happening.

What is the best way to respectfully and lovingly care for a loved one suffering with dementia?

Kay Bransford is living that struggle with both of her parents. She would be the first to tell you that there is no simple answer, every family situation is unique and different and difficult.

Of course one of the questions facing families is how to include children in the care of a loved one suffering with dementia. Kay also talks about her decision to include her 12 year old daughter Carly fully in the care of her parents. Carly shares with us a beautiful, loving perspective that can serve as an example to other families dealing with this potentially devastating illness.

Out of that struggle Kay created, a wonderful service that helps families talk about difficult issues while collecting important information before it is lost to dementia.

Holli Kenley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, currently works in the field of  psychology as an author, educator, and workshop presenter. Formerly from the Southern California area, she practiced for ten years in a counseling center before moving into private practice.  Spending much of her time working in the areas of abuse, trauma, betrayal, and cyber bullying, Holli is the author of five books. The Sports Doctor is in!!! Dr Bob Weil is known as the Sports Doctor. Dr Bob specializes in podiatric medicine, orthotics and sports medicine. He has written a column for the Naperville Sun and Aurora Beacon since 2007 as “The Sports Doctor”.  His goal is to provide sports medicine information to athletes, their families, coaches and all readers.

Dr Bob is also the  host of a weekly radio show, “The Sports Doctor” on Healthy On this show he addresses current topics in medicine and sports and often include guest speakers who bring a wealth of knowledge from their various professional backgrounds.

In this interview Topher tells us that one in 68 children born will be diagnosed as falling somewhere within the Austism spectrum. His new app will help open more opportunities for kids with autism. Topher also has advice for families who are challenged when their child is diagnosis with autism.
