Michael Swartz is the author of Ratara, Legend of Damien, an exciting world of fantasy & adventure. Michael Schwartz spent his youth involved with karate training and dragon slaying in the woods of New Hampshire. He was fond of role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, and even created his own written adventures and modifications. At the young age of eighteen he fell in love with and married his neighbor and high school sweetheart, Kimberly. After graduating high school he embarked on a short term of service in the United States Marine Corps, during which his two sons were born. The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks had a profound effect on Michael’s outlook of life, God, and His purpose for mankind. He was moved to study theology and philosophy, in particular religiously inspired warfare. Trying to discover the answer to divinely justified murder, and man’s eager claim to it, he wrote this book series.

Help Your Kids Develop A Love Of Stories & Reading

“Bader Field, How My Family Survives Suicide” began as homage to Carl's father, Samuel David, the legendary art dealer in Philadelphia, who died suddenly & unexpectedly at the age of 58 while on a buying trip in England. This book started so that Carl's children, not yet born, would know the extraordinary greatness of their grandfather whom they would never otherwise know. But, as the years passed and the book evolved, its true perspective emerged.

After more than 25 years of Carl's personal struggle and torment, Bader Field would reveal the story of how his own American family lived through and fought to survive his brother's shocking death by suicide. In an instant, this one act shattered Carl's young life when he was just 16 and nearly destroyed his family. As a young man and as a brother, Carl battled through his own personal wasteland with one vision, but later, upon becoming a husband and father, he could only imagine the pain his parents had suffered.

Carl said: "I needed to reach out to those who are on the brink of killing themselves to show them there is always a better way. There is love, hope and help available. I want them to see how such a violent act not only ends the life of the victim, but also forever scars the lives of their families & friends. My mission is to bring to those who contemplate suicide an awareness about what a horrific tragedy it produces & to offer solace to all who have lost loved ones this way by showing how my family came to terms with my brother's taking his life. This is my way of 'paying it forward'.
